Dock Equipment
Dock equipment, such as dock levelers, helps bridge the gap between a loading dock and a trailer to ensure smooth, safe material handling. Dock levelers provide a stable transition for forklifts and pallet jacks, improving loading and unloading efficiency while reducing the risk of accidents or product damage.

Air-Powered Dock Leveler
The Blue Giant Air-Powered Dock Leveler operates safely and efficiently under the toughest conditions: temperature extremes, heavy operations, and exposure to caustic substances.
Uses the industry-accepted total load class standard ANSI MH30.1 for ease of weight calculations and usage.
Air-Powered performance is activated by a single push button control station, requiring no bending or pulling on the part of the operator. The blower motor inflates a two-stage airbag via high-volume, low-pressure (HVLP). After releasing the button, the bag deflates, setting the platform on the trailer bed. This air lifting system is an environmentally-friendly alternative to oil-powered hydraulics. A redesigned lip operation system provides positive powered deployment and automatic release when lowering on trailer bed or storing in parked position.
Loading Dock Seals / Shelters

Dock shelters create a tight seal between a loading dock opening and the back of a trailer during loading and unloading. Its primary purpose is to help maintain indoor climate control by reducing air exchange, which improves energy efficiency and protects products from temperature changes, dust, pests, and weather. Dock seals also enhance safety and comfort for workers by minimizing drafts and keeping the dock area cleaner and more controlled.
We have a variety of styles available depending on your application and the size of your door. Installation by our team is also available.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a mechanical and a hydraulic dock leveler?
Mechanical levelers use a spring-and-chain system that is cost-effective but requires manual effort to operate. Hydraulic levelers offer push-button operation and are more durable for high-volume docks, though they come with a higher initial investment.
Why are dock seals and shelters necessary?
Seals and shelters create a tight barrier between the truck and the building, which prevents conditioned air from escaping and keeps rain, dust, and pests out. This not only lowers energy costs but also keeps your dock floor dry and safe for forklift traffic.
How do I know what weight capacity my dock leveler needs?
The capacity should account for the combined weight of your heaviest forklift, the weight of the driver, and the weight of the maximum pallet load. We typically recommend a "safety factor" to ensure the leveler can handle the dynamic impact of a moving lift truck.
What are vehicle restraints and do I need them?
Vehicle restraints, often called "truck locks," prevent a trailer from accidentally pulling away while a forklift is still inside. They are a critical safety component that prevents "trailer creep" and catastrophic falls from the dock edge.
Can you repair existing dock equipment from other manufacturers?
Yes, our service technicians are trained to maintain and repair dock levelers, doors, and restraints from all major brands. We carry a wide variety of replacement parts to get your loading bay back in operation as quickly as possible.
How often should dock levelers be inspected for safety?
We recommend a professional inspection and lubrication at least every six months for standard use, or quarterly for high-volume facilities. Regular maintenance prevents the structural fatigue and spring failure that can lead to dangerous dock accidents.
Do you offer "edge-of-dock" levelers?
Edge-of-dock (EOD) levelers are a great, budget-friendly option for facilities that handle standard-height trucks and don't have the space for a full pit-mounted leveler. They are easily mounted to the face of the dock and provide a simple bridge for pallet jacks and carts.
Need Pallet Racking or Forklifts?
We also sell, service, and rent forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and more.
